Rev. Justin Eliaseverua Mungure

My names are Pastor Justin E. Mungure, born on 12th of April, 1972 at a remote village (mbuga-land) called Nkoaranga, in Arumeru District of Arusha Region, northern Tanzania.  My mother died during deliverance in 1978, and my father suffered seriously of diabetes for almost 15 years being unconscious for his last three years until he died in September 2016, leaving a family of 5 children: I myself, my young brother and our three sisters.

I am married to Grace Mungure in 2008, and we have three children: Joel (9 years old) and the twins Noel and Noela (5 years old).

I did both my Bachelor and Masters Degree in Theology at Tumaini University Makumira College between the years 1997 and 2004.  Since August 2004 to 2014 I worked as Chaplain and Teacher of Divinity at Ailanga Lutheran Junior Seminary owned by the ELCT - Meru Diocese. I was ordained in the Lutheran Church in January, 2008.  Since 2008 to the present, I also serve as Parish Pastor, and currently I am a Parish Pastor at Usa River Lutheran Parish of the ELCT – Meru Diocese.

Since October 2015, I am a PhD Candidate at Tumaini University Makumira College specializing in Biblical Studies (OT). My topic for research reads: JACOB’S DECEPTIONS AND THE DIVINE GRACE: The Concept of Divine Grace as YHWH’s Loyalty to Patriarchal Promises in Jacob’s Accounts of Deceptions and Promises to Prosper: An Analysis of Genesis 25:21-34; 27:1-28:15.
