Marceline Niwenshuti

Marceline Niwenshuti is a PhD student of political science, with the department of social sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), in South Africa. Marceline has been offered a short term scholarship by the Academy of Missions at the University of Hamburg, to continue with her research project at the Academy of Missions in Hamburg for six months. The title of her research project is: consensual democracy and education: The role of National Unity and Reconciliation Commission of Rwanda.

Marceline is from the Presbyterian Church of Rwanda, and her research interests are on Theology and politics. Her previous studies were on the Church and politics in Rwandan context. Besides her studying task, while at UKZN, Marceline works as a library assistant, as a mentor with the Academic Monitoring Programme (AMP) and as a lecturer assistant for education and development module. While in Rwanda, she is involved in Presbyterian Church, serving in small duties and with preaching at intervals with others. At the end of her study programme, Marceline wishes to become a full time minister of the Church in Rwanda, lecturer, researcher and activist of contextual theology (Theology and politics).
